The Nissan Altima tag line “You’ll be driven to perfection”, certainly isn’t far from the truth when it comes to the drivability of the all new Altima. This 2017 face lift to an all time classic is long awaited and a much needed boost to the look and feel of one of Nissan’s favourite cars. With a substantial amount of cosmetic changes the new Altima definitely looks nothing like its meek and mild pre-decessor. Put your foot down on the new 3.5L V6 in the TI-S and this new entrant into the Nissan showroom really comes alive. If the sound of the engine in your ears and your heart in your mouth isn’t enough juts crank up the 9 speaker BOSE Audio system and tune out to the worries of the world.
Although not launched into the Australian market as yet. (it’s earmarked for a 2017 launch) It was unveiled in America so we could all get a sneak peak at what to expect when it does come ashore.
Here’s what we know:
The Altima will appear in three different guises ranging form the base model ST with a starting price of a little over $33,000, followed by the ST-L (just under $40,000). You can then step up to the Ti or go all out with V6 Ti-S Coming in a little shy of $50,000.
We find it funny that there is such a thing as a base model in the inspiring car as the ST is fitted with intelligent key and push button start, Advanced driver assist display and climate control. Not bad for and entry level. Step up and the features get better, the wheels get bigger and the tunes get louder.
The Altima is proving that it is possible to have a comfortable, affordable and fuel efficient family car that has the potential to be more if you need it.
