Introducing the newest member of the Wakeling Automotive family...

We have something really exciting to share with our friends and loyal customers. Wakeling Automotive last week spread its wings to the Illawarra region and added City Motors Group to the family!

Some 35 years into the legacy that Mum and Dad created, we are thrilled to welcome to the family - 70 new staff across 3 sites and a total of 5 franchises, including two new brands, Honda and Mercedes-Benz with an old faithful in Hyundai.

The business was previously run and operated by the Veljanov family, and has operated in Wollongong since the mid-eighties in many ways mimicking the Wakeling story. Indeed Tom Veljanov was known locally as Honda Tom and the links they have in the Illawarra are deep.

Burgo and I are super excited for what this acquisition brings to the group, a broader range of purchasing options, an opportunity for growth and some economies of scale that will help all our clients and suppliers.

Our commitment to the Macarthur remains the same, and we’re keen on showing the Illawarra just what we can do for them too!!
