Kids return to school as the Christmas holidays end

Funnily enough, at about this time each year I find myself writing about the exciting week that’s just hit us!! Back to school week…I think I know why, but I still find it odd that I fall into the same trap…after all there’s plenty to talk about. The recent visit of the Tigers to get some pre-season training in at Campbelltown, the Big Bash Cricket, the Australian Open, upcoming manufacturer car releases…the list goes on. However my mind turns to the journey, our kids are heading back for another school year, to grow, to learn to laugh and play…If you’re like me then you think the kids have had way too long off already!! But at the same time we’re sad to see them go... it means we’re one year closer... to what, I’m not sure. What I am sure of though, is that this year will disappear just as fast as the Christmas holidays now appear to have…so good luck to all the teachers, new and old, good luck to the first time mums who’ll have plenty of tears, and good luck to our kids as they continue the most important journey of their young lives…
