The 20th Anniversary of the Annual Kids of Macarthur Ball

The Annual Kids of Macarthur Ball was held at the Cube last Saturday night, it was the 20th Anniversary of the event and once again proved to be a fantastic evening. The Kids of Macarthur Health Foundation, was the brainchild of Dr Ric Dunstan, who some 20 years ago recognised the need to help the then fledgling paediatric ward at Campbelltown Hospital procure some much needed equipment. Gathering some of Macarthurs best and brightest as Directors, then allowed the foundation to grow to what it is today, it’s fitting that this years event was the swansong for Kids very own CEO Denise McGrath. She has toiled tirelessly for such a long time to help make our local health services even better and her commitment and loyalty will be missed. The nights cause was to raise enough funds to fund a Student Supported Paediatric Research Pilot Program, which focusses on specialised Physiotherapy for young children. The dual benefit being the students also get to learn. The night was a great success and the goals were achieved with the very generous support of all those who attended. I’m pleased to say that Wakeling Automotive have been involved with Kids since day one, and it fits quite well with our very own Wheels For Life program, focussing on giving back to Macarthur. Well done to all and thankyou to Denise.
